Second Serve

2025
Director: Jamie Patterson

Synopsis

Once a rising star who made it to a Wimbledon semi-final, only to suffer a crushing defeat, Freddy Roberts is now the resident pro at a prestigious tennis club - except he is actually residing there too. Divorced and attempting to coparent his young daughter without a home or a suitable income, he’s become a shadow of the man he once was.

When the chance for a long-overdue rematch against the rival who humiliated him twenty five years ago presents itself, Freddy sees one last shot at redemption. The only problem? He’s out of shape, out of touch, and out of excuses - until his daughter, steps in to train him.

With the club’s quirky regulars rallying behind him, Freddy must face his past, prove he’s not just a has-been, and most importantly show his daughter he’s still worth believing in.

A charming story of second chances, and the power of love; on and off the court.
